This is true especially in diabetic patients.<\/p>\n<p>The immune system of diabetic patients is slow to wound healing and yet reactive in presence of teeth plaque, causing bone loss around teeth.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend the following to our patients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 to 4 month interval cleanings<\/li>\n<li>The use of NdYag Soft tissue laser<\/li>\n<li>Nightly use of Perioscience<\/li>\n<li>Annual measurements of gums<\/li>\n<li>Use of Arestin (antibiotic) with a 6 mm pocket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Besides teeth cleaning, managing your sugar level is the most important thing.
