Jesse’s Smile Transformation
When Jesse visited us for the first time, he immediately made us all smile with his kindness. He shared that he used to love smiling, but lately, he didn’t feel confident doing it anymore. Years of teeth grinding had worn down his teeth so much that he no longer recognized himself or his smile.
Understanding Bruxism
Teeth grinding (bruxism) can be caused by several factors — including stress, anxiety, sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, certain medications, and lifestyle habits. Nutritional deficiencies, misaligned teeth, and other medical conditions can also contribute to bruxism in both adults and children.
The consequences of bruxism are mainly the loss of tooth structure, which affects both form and function. In Jesse’s case, significant enamel wear had left his teeth looking short and square. He experienced hypersensitivity due to nerve exposure, muscle soreness when chewing, and symptoms of TMJ discomfort.
Finding Hope Again
When Jesse found us, he was ready for a real, lasting solution — no more quick fixes. Our goal was to address both the cause and the consequences of his condition through a full mouth rehabilitation, restoring his function, comfort, and esthetics.
The Consultation
During our consultation, we discussed his dental history, prior treatments, and experiences. He shared that no one had ever explained how bruxism could lead to:
- Constant muscle soreness
- Tooth grinding and wear
- Difficulty chewing
- Loss of confidence when smiling
We determined that a full mouth rehabilitation was the best way to rebuild the lost structure, restore proper tooth anatomy for efficient chewing, ensure adequate tooth height for TMJ comfort, and achieve an esthetic smile.
We combined this treatment with Botox TMJ therapy and strong zirconia restorations to help reprogram his muscle activity. This ensured that, even with his strong bite and facial muscles, Jesse wouldn’t grind down his new teeth while adjusting to them.
The Digital Design & Treatment Process
With the help of our skilled lab technician, we digitally designed a prototype of Jesse’s new smile — restoring the lost height in his back teeth and creating space in the front for the beautiful, natural-looking teeth he always wanted.
One of the exciting parts of a full mouth rehabilitation is that patients can preview their new smile, test temporary sets, and choose their ideal shade before the final restorations.
The process was *efficient and seamless, completed in just **four appointments. Two of these were done under moderate sedation for maximum comfort. We prepped his upper and lower teeth for full-coverage zirconia restorations, scanned them, merged the scans with our virtual design, and *printed beautiful temporary teeth the same day.
From day one, Jesse loved his new smile — he even requested slightly larger teeth, which we easily adjusted thanks to our digitally assisted workflow. After approving the design, we printed a second set of temporaries to finalize his look before creating the permanent restorations.
The Final Smile
Using our *in-house dental lab, we milled and delivered Jesse’s *permanent zirconia crowns — strong, metal-free, and naturally lifelike. Each individual crown was perfectly adapted for easy cleaning and flossing, just like natural teeth.
Even during the temporary phase, Jesse was thrilled. When he received his final smile, he was overjoyed — smiling nonstop in disbelief. Most importantly, he was *pain-free, his **bite felt comfortable, his **jaw was properly aligned, and his *grinding had dramatically reduced.
To protect his new restorations, we scanned his final bite and created a customized night guard to prevent any future grinding.
A Transformed Life
Now, Jesse can’t stop smiling. He has the teeth he always dreamed of and no longer grinds them away. He told us this was the best decision he’s ever made for himself, and we are deeply grateful for his trust and kind words.
Full mouth rehabilitations are truly transformative — restoring not just smiles, but confidence and quality of life.
We are thankful for our entire Dream Dental team, whose skill and dedication made Jesse’s journey flawless from start to finish.
